Carol Elizabeth Fogle Chastain, aged 75, passed away on March 23, 2024. Born on September 17, 1948, in Abilene, Texas, to A.E. and Stella Mae Fogle, Carol grew up imbued with the values of faith, family, and service that would define her life. A testament to her early love and commitment, Carol married her high school sweetheart, David M. Chastain, on December 27, 1969, after they both graduated from Texas Tech University. She dedicated her life to her family, raising their two sons, Jeffrey and Jeremy Chastain, instilling in them the virtues of kindness, dedication, and community service. Carol was deeply involved in her church, embodying the spirit of service and compassion. Her unwavering faith and dedication to helping others were sources of inspiration to many, leaving a lasting impact on her community and everyone she touched. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her sister, Janice Allen of Abilene, and Ron Fogle and his wife, Anne of Abilene. Her children, Jeff Chastain and his wife, Karen of McKinney and J. Chastain and his wife, Sarah of Rockwall along with grandchildren Kyla, Jadyn, Hayes, and Whitman Chastain also survive her. She leaves a legacy for her family of wonderful memories, treasured family celebrations, and the example of a life lived for God.
