Carl Dwayne Lusk

October 1, 1944 — September 3, 2021

Dwayne Lusk, age 76, passed from this life to the Presence of Jesus on September 3, 2021. Dwayne was born in Wolfe City, Texas in a small home to James David Lusk and Margie Lee Warwick Lusk. He was raised around the Wolfe City and Greenville, Texas area until moving to Garland, Texas after graduating from Greenville HS in 1962. He married the love of his life Janice Auline Williams Lusk on July 3, 1964.

He felt the call to ministry at an early age and gave himself to that life for over 60 years. He served as an interim pastor, itinerate minister and evangelist until submitting to the word God had given him and in November 1975 started what is now called Victory Church. He pioneered and pastored Victory Church (formerly The Potter' s House/Where Eagles Soar) until December 2000 when he handed the church to his son in law and daughter Paul and Trina Freeman. He did this so that he could pursue the call to missionary work in the old Soviet Union. In 1990, he made his first trip into Russia and Ukraine. The Lord opened the door in Ukraine, and he and Janice fell in love with the people and made it their life's work to bring the Gospel and a Bible University to the nation. In 1992, Dwayne started Christian Life School of Theology based in Kiev, Ukraine. Since that time, there have been countless pastors who have graduated from this school and have started churches all over the world. The ministry of Dwayne and Janice and their efforts in Ukraine is ongoing and will be continued by Janice, the kids and grandkids as they get older.

Dwayne also was the best Santa! With his jolly, gentle nature, the kids loved him. He would talk to them and on occasion, even had the opportunity to pray for the kids and their families. Any pay he received being Santa, he used to go back to Kiev to minister to the kids there. He would play Santa at several of the Children' s Homes in Kiev and surrounding cities bringing them gifts from America.

Dr. Dwayne Lusk is survived by his wife, Janice Lusk of Plano, Texas; his daughter Trina Freeman and husband Dr. Paul Freeman of Murphy, Texas; his daughter Dr. Shawnita Lusk Lewis and husband Jason Lewis, of Plano, Texas; his son Brandon Lusk and wife Jessica Lusk of Plano,
Texas; Grandchildren: Amanda Haire and husband Harlan Haire of Wylie, Texas; Ashley Morrow and husband Jimmy Morrow of Wylie, Texas; Zach Freeman and wife Hannah Freeman of Murphy, Texas; Rachel Walker and husband Michael Walker of Mesquite, Texas; and nine great

The Celebration of Life will be streamed live via Facebook & YouTube so as to let everyone who wants to participate, and watch have the opportunity. So that there is not another outbreak of this disease and to protect the health of Shawnita and Trina, the family wishes the in-person service to be small and private. For the few attending in person, we will have masks available and request that they be worn. If you are sick, have any symptoms of cold, flu, strep or other illnesses, please watch online.
