Calvin George McCall, Jr., age 76, of Garland, Texas, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021, in Sachse, Texas, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was born September 9, 1944, the son of Letha Christine Wallace and Calvin George McCall, Sr., in Wyandotte, OK. On December 23, 1970, Calvin was united in marriage to Carol McCall, who survives him. Also surviving are: Calvin's daughter, Chanda McCall of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Reba Catlett of Springfield, MO, and Alzada Endicottt of Joplin, MO; one brother, Bud Lawson of Grove, OK; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Calvin in death were: his parents; one brother, Buck Lawson; and one sister, Doris Owens.
Sonny, as he was known in his hometown of Wyandotte, OK, received his education at Wyandotte High School in Wyandotte, OK, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Junior College in Miami, OK and Amber University in Garland, Texas. Sonny served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970 as a track driver and also served as Publication and Distributions Clerk at Company Headquarters in Germany.
Calvin was employed as an accountant by Trinity Insurance from 1977 until he retired in 2008.
Calvin's body has been donated to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center for medical research. Following his cremation, Calvin will be inurned at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, Calvin's family suggests contributions in his memory be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
