Rev. Brisco Stanley Sydney, age of 92 of Dallas, Texas was the son of Rev. Benjamin and Mrs. Bella Sydney and was born on 22nd November 1930 at Mission Compound, Methodist Church, Agra. He passed away peacefully on April 14th, 2023, surrounded by his wife to whom he was married for 66 years and a very close friend Cecil Dass. He was baptized on 19th February 1931. He had 8 siblings including four brothers and four sisters.  He was the younger of the brothers and was known as "chote" by his parents and siblings. After completing his education at Meerut College, he became an accountant at the Commissioner Office in Meerut. He got married to his beloved Miriam Singh on Wednesday, Oct 16th, 1957. He worked with Church's Auxiliary for Social Action (CASA), New Delhi until they emigrated to USA on October 13th, 1970. He completed all the accounting courses including Advance Theory & Practice in 1979 from University of Texas in Dallas and got a degree in MBA from UTD as well. He worked for Southland Corporation since 1971 until he retired in 1993. He then received master’s in biblical studies from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1996 and graduated with honors. He organized a Christian Prayer Group named 'Indo Pak Christian Fellowship' in Jan 1971 after he came to Dallas and carried on up to 1994 when Indian Churches were organized.

Rev. Sydney loved his wife, family and friends. He was a well-respected member of the community and was a longtime friend to many young and old. He served the church well and performed his assigned duties diligently. He also served in the prison ministering to the inmates and bringing them closer to God. He had some great qualities about him. He was kind, honest, genuine, loyal and very straightforward. He was fiercely independent and led a very disciplined life. He was ready to help anyone in need. His hobbies included photography, reading Christian literature, traveling, cooking, organizing picnics and prayer meetings.

He is survived by his loving wife Mrs. Miriam Sydney, lots of nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. He is preceded in death by his parents-Rev Benjamin Sydney and Mrs. Bella Sydney. Brothers- Bassanio, Benson, Brenton and Byron. Sisters-Betrice, Beulah, Blanch, Brijlina. His adopted son-Harold Sydney, a few other nephews and nieces.

The Celebration of Life for Rev. Brisco Sydney will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Charles W. Smith Funeral Home, 2925 5th St, Sachse, TX 75048. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM and Services will be from 12:00 PM-1:00 PM and graveside to follow Cemetery at the same location.
