Bobbie Tyler Duck

February 12, 1938 — November 29, 2021

Bobbie Tyler Duck was born February 12, 1938 in Ben Wheeler, Texas. She was the 1st born and only daughter born to Curtis & Blanch Tyler. The young family moved to the Old Bethel community near Canton Texas.

Then came three brothers. Most of Bobbie's growing up years were there. She did go to Athens High School for one year but then returned to Canton where she graduated in 1955. For many years she's kept a monthly luncheon & reunion with several classmates.

Bobbie was married to Bill Duck on January 18, 1958 and remained married for 48 years until his death in 2006.

Most of her adult life was spent here in Mesquite. Although her primary love was taking care of her God-given children, she did spend many years working outside the home. Her first full time job after high school was as a correspondence clerk at Dunn & Bradstreet. After the birth of her second child she worked at Gardner-Denver as a cost accounting clerk and then began working for Sears and remained there for 23 years as an Installation Clerk in the Home Improvement department and retired from there in 1993. In 1994 she began working for the Mesquite Police Department in the Records Department as a Records Clerk. She retired from there in 2004. She deeply respected law enforcement and the Mesquite Police Department. Since 2005 she has worked as a part-time crossing guard for the Mesquite ISD and this was by far her most favored job. She retired when she was no longer able to continue serving as the crossing guard.

Bobbie is preceded in death by: her parents Curtis & Blanch Tyler; two brothers, Weldon Lavon Tyler and Curtis Tyler Jr.; her son, Steven Mark Duck; and her beloved husband Bill Duck.
