Murphy

Betty Jean Shelton Davis, wife to William A. Davis and mother to Ronald Griffith Jr. and Deborah Griffith Denison passed away on February 28, 2023.  She spent her last days visiting with her children and her final moments peacefully at home with her loving husband.

She was the daughter of the late Charles Dewitt Shelton, Sr. and Roberta Steadman Shelton. She is survived by her husband and children as well as her grandchildren: Christopher Everett Windom, Mitchell Lee Windom and step grandchildren Cory M. Denison and Brian P. Denison.

Betty spent much of her career in various banking and customer service roles.  She had a special way of greeting and working with the public, which was where she shined.  She loved helping people with their banking needs and resolving problems.  She used her experience and problem-solving skills to help others in a kind manner without adding judgment or blame.

Betty was known for her Southern charm, generous nature, genuine love of people and her sense of style for fashion.  She had a passion for her grandchildren, entertaining friends, shopping and reading.  She was blessed with many friends and especially loved her Sunday school class family.  She had many years of fond memories and Betty will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
