Allan Stewart Kern, 73, passed away on February 13, 2021. Allan was born in Washington D.C., but was a resident of Wheaton, Maryland until his move to Rockwall, Texas in the 80's.

Allan's heritage was Canadian on his mother's side and Maryland on his dad's side. Allan's life was the dash between birth and death. He was a son, brother, husband, dad, step-dad and a granddad. When he was young, he was a figure skater and taught ice skating; he served in the army during the Viet Nam War; was a nurse in a correctional institute, until injured on the job ended that career; he then learned programming and did IT programming, sales and support until his retirement. He loved the water, whether it be the ocean, lakes or rivers and was an avid fisherman; loved to work with wood from hand carving to making furniture; and coming up with inventive ways to do things.

Allan was a loving husband who was always coming to his wife's rescue when she got in over her head. He loved his family and adored his grandkids. He will leave behind lasting memories on all the lives he touched as a loving, loyal, helpful, strong and creative man.

Allan was preceded in death by his dad, David Stewart Kern; his mother, Ruth Halstead Kern; 2 brothers, David H. Kern and Stephen Kern.

Allan is survived by his wife of 30 years, Debra Brooks Kern of Rockwall, TX; daughter, Christina Ceresini-Baker of Fredericks, MD; step-daughter and family, Pamela, Bryan, Mikayla and Savannah Fields of Hope, AR; step-son and family, Coy, Melody and Lauren McKamie of Rockwall, TX; 2 sisters and their husbands, Bonnie and John Pressley of Edgewood, MD; Kathy and Bob Murgallis of BelAir, MD; brother, Paul Kern of Wheaton, MD; step-mother, Corrine Kern of Wheaton, MD; and a large loving family of aunts and cousins in Canada.
